About DJ PC Repairs
If it’s modern-day computer stuff then we can probably fix it. Heck, even if it’s not modern-day then we’ve probably still fixed it at some time or other! We’d much sooner see things get fixed and/or upgraded than used for landfill, especially as nothing good ever came from burying a broken computer or tablet in the ground – maybe PC and Tech trees take a long time to grow, but I’ve never seen one yet. Has anyone?
We don’t talk ‘tech’ or ‘geek-speak’ and we certainly don’t take sharp intakes of breath when someone describes a problem. We simply offer a simple, straight-forward solution to getting your tech stuff running as it should, in the shortest possible time and at an affordable price.
And we don’t always have to turn up on your doorstep to fix things either. With something called ‘remote-access’ software there is always a chance that we might be able to sort your problem out via the magic of things being connected to the internet. We won’t be able to assess this until you call but it could be an option and it helps save the planet as there’s no fuel being used in the journey to see you. Surely that’s a win-win!

So what do we actually do?
Tech Repairs: Nowadays, most of our work is on faulty and broken laptop and desktop computers. Broken screens from over zealous users or keyboards where only half the keys work due to one too many glasses of sherry – that sort of thing.
But let’s not forget that slightly ageing machine that now seems to have the performance of a retired slug when you distinctly remember it was faster than a dog with a bone when you got it! This could be down to the clutter that machines seem to gather as time rolls by or it could be the dreaded malware and/or viruses (bad software that has some ulterior unpleasant motive for being on your machine). It could also be that it needs a multitude of updates running, the ones that so many people are afraid to do just in case things go awry. Generally these things are curable and just take a little patience and some know-how.
Broadband & Wifi: We’re also happy to pop along and fix any Broadband, WiFi or Router issues you maybe having, or install the new kit you got sent when you changed supplier and update the stuff they forgot to tell you about such as changing over every device previously connected to the old equipment, your telly, your Smart Speaker and even your fridge if it does its own ordering!
Data Recovery: For most people this super-tech term just means that we can probably get all those photos and documents off that now broken computer that you never backed up!
Some things we don’t do: There are things we don’t do though. We don’t fix Apple products for a whole multitude of reasons but the main one is we just don’t have access to any parts that maybe needed – Apple make sure of that for your benefit, apparently. It’s far more important to them to make sure any repairs are done professionally by their people and that they get paid for them too – especially as they’re short of a few quid. Mmmm. Set Apple stuff up and configure them? Yes. Actually repair Apple faults? No, sorry.
We rarely fix printers either, again because parts are hard to get for most of them and if it’s a typical blocked printhead, due to not being used for ages, then repair is usually uneconomical due to the low price of a replacement. We’ll certainly have a look but we can’t make any promises.
